Jožef Mali - Grief Relief Blues
Blues, Pop Rock, Soft Rock
Kranj, Slovenia
Overall Impression: Jožef Mali's Grief Relief Blues delivers a classic Blues feel with a soothing sound - fulfilling it's title and providing a brief window of instrumental catharsis to those who listen in! Skillfully played acoustic guitar carries the main character and melody of Grief Relief Blues while steady electronic instrumentals maintain the pace and setting with precision.
Strongest Point(s): Great introduction - the left and right panned licks grab attention and set the tone nicely! The guitar tone is really nice, very clear and warm. Notably precise playing as well - bucking the standards of Blues culture in favor of a much more refined, polished feel. The result is that each note and phrase feels intentional and full of relevance, rather than an inundating flurry of pentatonic flourishes. Great bending effect at 2:25 - excellent work porting the most defining characteristics of the genre into this format!
Target Audience Appeal: Fans of blues flavoring but with an appetite for more reserved, refined musical expressions will find Jožef Mali's sound and style to be right up their alley! Fully instrumental and delightfully relaxed, Grief Relief Blues stands to resonate with a wide variety of listeners, and is suitable for a sizable range of applications - relaxed and uncluttered enough to appeal to those who need sounds to focus by while containing enough genuine musicality and emotional expression to hook those who need relief from their grief!
Artist target suggestions: B.B. King, John Lee Hooker, Joe Bonamassa, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Otis Rush, Freddy King, Elmore James, Eric Clapton, Papa Don McMinn, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Roy Buchanan, Otis Spann, Ronnie Earl, Marco Tansini
