Jožef Mali - Mum & Baby Deer (Instrumental) Blues, Pop Rock, Soft Rock Kranj, Slovenia Overall Impression: Slovenian guitarist/composer Jožef Mali instills a sense of deep serenity and tranquility in listeners with his release of "Mum and Baby Deer." This instrumental guitar composition incorporates the sounds of a variety of birds, their trills, caws and warbles weaving in and out of this piece's folk-inspired melodies to give it an earthy, organic atmosphere that transports the listener to a secluded forest setting. Mali does a superb job of arranging here, as he employs a variety of techniques to convey the theme using multiple voices. From legato sustained notes to brief pizzicato phrases, sometimes doubled and at other times harmonized, Mali ensures that audiences will never tire of this delightfully pleasant tune. Jožef Mali's "Mum and Baby Deer" should appeal to fans of contemporary folk and instrumental music, as well as new age enthusiasts. Strongest Point(s): Solid production and mix. Fantastic arrangement, excellent variations. Outstanding vibe and mood, very relaxed and contemplative. Great use of dynamics. Love the birds, outstanding choice to integrate them into the work (see reviewer comments). Incredibly catchy melodies. Michael R R Wilson - Grass Alternative/Alt. Rock, Singer Songwriter, Acoustic Rock, Soft Rock Canada, Winnipeg Overall Impression: Michael R R Wilson brings timeless human trials to light with a soul-searching Singer/Songwriter sound in the original song, "Grass"! Lightly grooving guitar, bass, piano and percussion conspire beneath Wilson's lofty vocals to deliver an image of self-discovery and redemptive healing - lyrically learning to move forward and let what's passed remain in the past. Strongest Point(s): There's an obvious love of the craft on display in Michael's sound and style, and it shines through various elements of "Grass"! Each of the instrumental components are well-selected and implemented to deliver a warmly melancholic sound - perfect for the lyrical journey and cohesive across the board. The rhythmic flow and melodic motion of "Grass" are at once unique and deeply familiar, drawing from the well of Soft Rock nostalgia to give timeless concepts a new narrative. What seems to be a sound effect for breaking glass kicks the song off and draws attention to the initial use of "glass" rather than "grass" in the lyrical flow - which is a clever and creative incorporation of the song's themes in its sound design. Nicely done! Target Audience Appeal: Listeners with a love for Singer/Songwriter sounds and Soft Rock drives will find Michael R R Wilson's work to be endearing, while the lyrical narrative and overall feel of "Grass" promise to catch the ears and tug at the hearts of discerning listeners from a variety of backgrounds! Cherise Arthur - My Dream for You Soul, Country, Soft Rock Oregon, United States Overall Impression: What an incredibly soothing piece of music, I was taken by its highly emotive performances, and considering this is Victor James' first song, what an excellent debut! With its calming reflective lyrics, beautifully realized melodies, and distinct performances, "My Dream for You" is an uplifting and undeniably poetic piece of songwriting Strongest Point(s): With its delicate stripped-back instrumentation of just piano and vocals, this is an incredibly intimate performance that is both emotionally rich and tender in nature. The vocals fit the song perfectly and express the lyrics with great authenticity and heartfelt sentiment, the singer was an excellent choice for this particular song and I can see why he was chosen. Showcasing a superb amount of refinement in tone and articulation, the vocalist handles the lyrical content with a subtle elegance that, as a listener, you can't help but get swept up in. The lyrics themselves are poignant and well crafted, and its themes are strengthened by the melodically rich harmony provided by the delicate timbre of the piano backing. The overall flow of the song works very well and gently carries the listener along, this is a very calming piece of music and in uncertain times like these, this is exactly what is needed, great work! Iz:be - We're All Family Soul, pop, soft rock CA,United States Overall Impression: In an emotionally salient and musically engaging attempt to unify the increasingly fractured human race, IZ:BE presents their heartfelt and anthemic original song, We're All Family. Blending elements of classic R&B with Soul and Rock, the song takes the slow-burning approach, beginning with one deeply impactful voice and sparingly applied keys before eventually building into an impressively impactful rallying cry to "Love one another, have faith in each other, [and] pull together," reminding us that We're All Family. Strongest Point(s): There's a really beautiful musicality to this song! The vocal qualities are gorgeous - very emotionally impactful and perfect for delivering the song's lyrical message. The instrumentals have a very classic feel to them, combining with the vocals and synth strings to give the whole track a really timeless aspect. Love the break at 3:31, and the subsequent guitar solo is sublime! The chorus is very impressive - both lyrically and musically, making for a seriously repeatable hook. Really great work! Target Audience Appeal: Listeners familiar with the classic tones of Soul, R&B, and sweeping Rock ballads will fall right in with the tones that IZ:BE is producing, and the lyrical content and overall musicality on display in We're All Family stand to resonate with anyone that carries a pulse!
