Taralkian - Lockdown Party (G4rcia Reworks) Dance/Electronica, EDM, Techno Vilvoorde, Belgium Overall Impression: Brimming with melody and steeped in an exciting sense of spontaneity, "Lockdown Party" is a fist-pumping, energy-raising journey into the world of electronica that is bursting with inventive ideas and a keen eye for detail. Considering this was made in a mere 4 hours, Taralkian has done a wonderful job of crafting a piece of music that feels both cohesive and wonderfully intriguing, and as the artist states themselves, this certainly does feel as if it's been conjured up "In the moment" and it's all the better for it. Writing, arranging, and recording in such a short amount of time is no easy feat, but there is a certain energy that is created when this approach is adopted, helping to give the music a feeling of both vibrancy and immediacy. Strongest Point(s): The amount of diversity amongst the tracks various sounds is excellent and Taralkian paints a vividly detailed soundscape that boasts great variation, whether it's the pumping bass and percussive elements that serve as the rhythmic backbone of the track, or the texturally rich pads and leads that provide the interesting harmonic and melodic content over, there is plenty of interesting sounds and textures for listeners to sink their teeth into. At six minutes, this is by no means a short track, and with a length such as this there's always the fear that repetition can begin to creep in, but I'm glad to say that this is certainly not the case with "Lockdown Party". The arrangement is very well put together, and the way in which sections differ from one another ensures listeners are always kept engaged. Subtle changes in the music, texture, and instrumentation effectively ensure that audiences are continually being presented with fresh new ideas whilst the overall main themes of the track provide a level of consistency and cohesiveness throughout the arrangement. Target Audience Appeal: Lovers of Electronica and EDM styles will certainly find "Lockdown Party" to be a brilliant listening experience. Great, heavy bass feel keeps the experience rooted in intensity and a cleverly oriented structure allows the track to take on several small and exciting arcs before it resolves. Incorporating some old-school video game sound effects at moments like 0:52 brings just a dash of levity to the soundscape and keeps listeners on their toes nicely.
