Arcus - Panic Dance/Electronica, Alternative, EDM Belgium Overall Impression: Superbly produced and filled with a great sense of electrifying creativity, "Panic" is a wondrous exploration into the world of hard-hitting synths and immersive sonic textures that feels ambitious in scope and musically stimulating from start to finish. Arcus presents listeners with a brilliant retro-inspired piece of electronica that makes fantastic use of its wide palette of sounds and deeply detailed production, giving listeners plenty of reason to want to get fully lost down its winding musical paths. Strongest Point(s): As the title so aptly hints at, there is a genuine feeling of panic embedded within the walls of the track that proves not only to be highly effective but conceptually captivating. The way the music ebbs back and forth between its two main sections creates a certain feeling of uncertainty in its listeners that feels both well-earned and thematically fitting. The A/B structure proves to be effective in creating a strong push-pull dynamic within the arrangement and the tonal contrast that's created between the two serves as a great way to instill a slightly disorientating feeling amongst listeners. For example, the more intense yet rhythmically stable A section focuses on a rhythmically consistent synth bass and percussive combo that helps to establish a strong sense of order within the music, however, Arcus cleverly turns this notion on its head in the B section, instead opting for a stronger feeling of erraticness in the rhythm due to the continually changing tempo, this helps create some excellent moments of tension and release in the music that ensures listeners are kept well and firmly on their toes. Written with great flair and genre awareness, this is a tune that is a pleasure to get wrapped up in, and Conceptpool BVBA Dirk Cassiers has done a sterling job of capturing the spirit of each one of the genres it so maturely fuses together to present a sonically rich and fantastically performed piece of inspired songwriting that feels both super stylish in its execution and marvelously accomplished. Strongest Point(s): Led by incredibly expressive and refined lead vocal performances, this is a track that oozes both sophistication and maturity from start to finish. From the jazzy funk-infused harmony that underlays the track to the highly engaging soul-tinted vocal delivery that elegantly sweeps over it, all elements are working in perfect synergy, resulting in a track that flows exceptionally well and is full of great character. Melodically there is an abundance of varied ideas on offer, and the diversity of the instrumentation is put to great use to help further develop these melodic ideas as well as help present them in various timbral guises, the short staccato string motifs for instance contrast beautifully against the smooth nature of the vocals and help create an interesting dynamic between parts that sometimes complement or oppose one another depending on the desired musical effect that is trying to be achieved, resulting in a strong arrangement that feels both exciting and well rounded. Target Audience Appeal: There is a great fusion of styles on offer here, elements of jazz, funk, and soul are all on display and I'm sure targeting all these areas will produce good results. Taralkian - Lockdown Party (G4rcia Reworks) Dance/Electronica, EDM, Techno Vilvoorde, Belgium Overall Impression: Brimming with melody and steeped in an exciting sense of spontaneity, "Lockdown Party" is a fist-pumping, energy-raising journey into the world of electronica that is bursting with inventive ideas and a keen eye for detail. Considering this was made in a mere 4 hours, Taralkian has done a wonderful job of crafting a piece of music that feels both cohesive and wonderfully intriguing, and as the artist states themselves, this certainly does feel as if it's been conjured up "In the moment" and it's all the better for it. Writing, arranging, and recording in such a short amount of time is no easy feat, but there is a certain energy that is created when this approach is adopted, helping to give the music a feeling of both vibrancy and immediacy. Strongest Point(s): The amount of diversity amongst the tracks various sounds is excellent and Taralkian paints a vividly detailed soundscape that boasts great variation, whether it's the pumping bass and percussive elements that serve as the rhythmic backbone of the track, or the texturally rich pads and leads that provide the interesting harmonic and melodic content over, there is plenty of interesting sounds and textures for listeners to sink their teeth into. At six minutes, this is by no means a short track, and with a length such as this there's always the fear that repetition can begin to creep in, but I'm glad to say that this is certainly not the case with "Lockdown Party". The arrangement is very well put together, and the way in which sections differ from one another ensures listeners are always kept engaged. Subtle changes in the music, texture, and instrumentation effectively ensure that audiences are continually being presented with fresh new ideas whilst the overall main themes of the track provide a level of consistency and cohesiveness throughout the arrangement. Target Audience Appeal: Lovers of Electronica and EDM styles will certainly find "Lockdown Party" to be a brilliant listening experience. CASS - In he Middle of the Night (Radio Edit) Soul, Funk, EDM Schoten, Belgium Overall Impression: "In the Middle of the Night" is a soulful new EDM release from international recording artist Dirk "CASS" Cassiers. Done in a nu-disco style, this track features an infectious four-on-the-floor groove that's punctuated by phased out guitars and house organs, colored by classic retro synths, and held down by a percussive funk bass line that's sure to fill up the dance floor. The real highlight however, is Cassier's abundantly expressive vocal performance as he explores themes of inclusivity and equality, all the while maintaining a lively festive atmosphere. His extraordinary talents are on full display here, enhanced by modern production techniques and exquisite vocal layering that gives this track a brilliant sheen. Dirk Cassiers' "In the Middle of the Night" should certainly have widespread appeal among fans of funky house and nu-disco, as well as crossover potential with pop audiences, thanks in part to its positive messaging and slick, contemporary production. I96 - Summer Nights Dance/Electronica, Electronic Pop, EDM Distric Of Columbia, United States Overall Impression: Filled to the brim with catchy hooks and solid performances, "Summer Nights" is a deftly produced and well-arranged EDM anthem that combines both great energy and melodic variation, resulting in a terrifically uplifting track that, just as the title suggests, encompasses the feeling of summer brilliantly. I96 clearly knows the genre well and has done an excellent job of crafting a well-written tune that you can't help but tap your foot and nod your head to, great work! Strongest Point(s): The production is excellent, showcasing great clarity and depth whilst also ensuring each and every individual element of the track is given the necessary space to breathe in the mix, the result is a production that has just the right amount of polish without losing the overall personality of the song, many similar tracks of this nature can so often be over-produced, causing a lack of dynamic nuance that takes the character out of the track, thankfully this is not the case here.
In terms of the arrangement, this is also a particularly strong element of the track, not only does it contain a great amount of tonal and timbral variation, courtesy of the diverse instrumentation, but the way the various sections of the song flow seamlessly from one to another is excellent and never feels disjointed, resulting in a cohesive and natural flowing arrangement that keeps the listener engaged from start to finish.
Target Audience Appeal: Fans of EDM will find a lot to love with "Summer Nights", its positive vibes and pure catchiness will appeal to a wide range of dance lovers. Twin Charade - Inaboyasa Rock, Alternative, EDM Toronto, Canada Overall Impression: Right off the bat Inaboyasa comes at you with this groovy guitar riff and I'm totally feeling this down-tuned 7 string djent tonality. You are then swept away into this hypnotic clean verse turning almost tribal, bringing me back to late 90's Soulfly - Umbabarauma. Comparisons aside, the vocals are unique and along with an infectious groove, they pull the listener deeper into this tune. It's what my ears are focusing on for sure. I find myself asking "Are you conjuring something, putting a spell on me, or is this Parseltongue?" That first initial build up you do that drops back into the groovy verse - the metal head in me wanted it to break into something heavier. Yet, on my second careful listen through, you realize that Twin Charade will not be pulling all that cliche stuff and in my opinion the choice was perfect. The funkiness only increases throughout the rest of this recording. Headphones a must for maximum tripping. Getting this Larry LaLonde from Tales from the Punchbowl vibe throughout the solo! The review only allows me to see the one main photo of the artist but from the looks of it, you guys look like a fun group. I can picture some sort of theatrical elements captivating the audience when Inaboyasa is performed live. You can consider me a fan of Twin Charade, excuse me while I go play your track like 10 more times! Strongest Point(s):

It's unpredictable without totally pushing away those warm and cozy metal and alternative music feelings I so love. It's well produced/mixed, good arrangement, excellent structure. I think you really have something here, at this point it's not if you have a good track or not, it's more about what you do with it. However you are getting ears on this song I hope you continue to pursue it!
