The Slide - Friday Night Bite

Former Jango Band of the Month, The Slide just released a new music video "Friday Night Bite". The band, hailing from Malmö, Sweden, have been working hard in the studio lately. They've released a new EP 'Mind Matters', a new music video and they have an upcoming England tour plus "a little secret at the end of the month" - so stay tuned for more goodies from this highly anticipated rock band. Jango Airplay is happy to present their music video, watch it and read all about it below, enjoy!

What inspired you to make this video?
We wanted to make a music video out of video clips to make it feel like a documentary. In our video you can see how fun we have when we are on tour and how we live our lives as musicians. And I think it's important to emphasize that and to make sure our fans get to know who we really are. We want to give them exclusivity and that their importance inspire us.

Where was it shot?
Our friends at the famous club, Kulturbolaget (KB), were kind enough to let us throw our release party there. We have played there loads of times before and it is one of Sweden's top three biggest clubs, located in our hometown Malmoe, Sweden. Bands such as The Quireboys, who we supported in 2010, have played there among other great artists. Luckily our manager filmed the whole damn gig including backstage where things went kind of crazy... Good times though....

What do you like most about promoting your music on on Jango Radio?
Jango is a great portal for upcoming bands like us as well as for established artists. Spreading our music is easy thanks to Jango's assimilation tool and because of that we now have fans from all over the world. It's rather practical and simple to use and you can share your music with the world, knowing that the world IS listening!

Do you have any new projects or events coming up soon? Tell us about it.
We have just released our EP 'Mind Matters' on Jango, Spotify, iTunes and Amazon. Classic Rock Magazine is releasing our EP on September 12. That will hopefully kick so much ass that the whole industry will chase us. A tour in England is right now about to be decided and maybe, just maybe we'll reveal a little secret at the end of the month - stay tuned on Jango!!

Airplay Band of The Month - Trapdoor Social

Trapdoor Social Profile picture
Meet Trapdoor Social, a Los Angeles duo taking Jango's alt-rock scene by storm. In their first three months on Jango Airplay they've managed to wow almost 30,000 fans, and with Popscores consistently in the 90's they're bound for success. We're happy to present them as Jango Band of the Month - below you can read about what inspires the duo and watch their brand new video. Enjoy!

Describe Trapdoor Social's sound in one sentence?
- A wildflower trampled into the mud, then picked up, dusted off and sent into space in a harmony-fueled rocket.

When was Trapdoor Social formed and where?
- November of 2011, in Los Angeles

Trapdoor Social Members
Name three people who have influenced your music, and tell us why? Living or dead.
- Three bands that really taught us what Rock is are Radiohead, Death Cab for Cutie, and Third Eye Blind. The first is a bit more Merritt's feel, and the third is a bit more Skylar.

How do you connect with fans and get them involved in your music?
- We love talking with fans on our Facebook, Twitter, Fanbridge, etc., but nothing beats rocking out live with people at shows.

What do you like the most about Jango Airplay?
- The fans! People are reaching out to us from all around the world, telling us they found us on Jango. It's amazing to have their support! Many are too far away to reach at this early stage, but we dream of touring to all sorts of wild places and linking up with our early supporters.

Is there any recent project you'd like to share with us? Tell us about it.
- We recently released our first big music video for our song, Inertia. It's a twisted vision of how to get love and a fun way to help our fans find their own interpretation and meaning in the song. You can check it out at trapdoorsocial.com/video or watch it here.

Are you guys playing live and do you have any shows coming up soon?
- We sure are! Mark your calendars for August 31st at the Bootleg Theater in L.A. We're pumped!
