Curiousoul - CLICK BAIT Dance/Electronica, Lounge/Chillout, House Texas, United States Overall Impression: With its pumping rhythm and energy-raising hooks, "CLICK BAIT" is a solid slice of electronica that combines catchy melodic lines with a chest-rattling sense of rhythm that ensures listeners are kept on their toes from start to finish. Curiousoul offers up a beat-heavy and musically creative track that can stand strong amongst the popular DJ fronted tunes of today and the clever hints at hip-hop, soul, and funk that are found throughout make for a particularly interesting blend of styles. Strongest Point(s): The production is excellent and perfectly encapsulates the style in which the track is based. As with any strong dance track, energy plays an integral role, and the production and mix certainly make sure this attribute is highlighted and kept at the forefront of the music, I think any music lover would be hard-pressed not to find themselves moving to "CLICK BAIT", meaning the track is clearly doing something very right indeed. The subtle hints of other styles are a great addition and clearly shows Curiousoul's wide range of musical influences, the jazzy funk tinted brass hooks that are scattered throughout for instance offer a nice contrast against the harder-hitting percussive elements of the track whilst there the track encompasses a certain hip-hop-inspired sense of attitude that works extremely well in this context. Target Audience Appeal: "CLICK Bait" is a great piece of electronica and will certainly prove to be a delight for any DJ. Massimo Vaccaro - Tamas World, Ambient, Lounge Carpi, Italy Overall Impression: Massimo Vaccaro's Tamas opens slowly, with mellow toned, string-based notes, sustained to hang warmly behind the unfurling composition, and swelling synth like a sun, encouraging each new instrument joining the composition to lift itself and join the sonic stream. Twinkling keys soon appear, busily performing their simplistic pattern again and again, serving as the internal operations and vessels contentedly working away at their tasks as part of the greater sonic organism. Tamas finds its soul, however, in a new synthesized line which emerges mid-piece in ringing crystalline resonance to fly high above its counterparts, mesmerizing listeners and pulling them deeper into a fully immersive experience. As gently as it began, Tamas winds all its parts back in and closes in a single echo leaving anyone fortunate enough to have experienced it deep in mental Shavasana. Strongest Point(s): Tamas shows incredible attention to tone, with all of its individual layers utterly complimentary, perfectly honed to sound as perfect as possible individually, yet separate and distinct in a way which adds intricate detail and allows each to fill a different need. Vaccaro shows awesome restraint in his pacing, letting the piece develop in its own time, with a tempo that feels somehow conjoined with a breath, or heartbeat. While Tamas is steeped in tranquility, it does show positive change over time, with the addition of new elements adding diversity, and ensuring the composition never has an opportunity to stagnate. Target Audience Appeal: Tamas is perfect for any yoga or meditative art, or simply anyone looking to promote a sense of peace. I can see spas and other wellness based spaces being quite enraptured, as well as fans of ambient, aesthetic driven music.
