Chuck W Chapman - Sadie Hawkins Slam Dance
Rock, Powerpop, Indie Rock
South Carolina, United States
Overall Impression: Chuck W Chapman kicks down the door with his new tune Sadie Hawkins Slam Dance. A sweet slice of Pop Punk, Sadie Hawkins Slam Dance covers an energized foundation with catchy melodies and a wildly fun attitude. The high octane guitars tear through the air with a bright, hot tone and lock in with the drums for a fast-paced groove. A tale of rough romance, this tune fondly remembers the Sadie Hawkins slam dance, and the girl who gave Chuck a busted lip and bruises. Soreness aside, it was the time of his life and all in good fun. Chapman has an oomph to his voice that is perfect for Pop Punk. He is joined with some wildly appropriate "Hey Ho!"s and keeps the tune short and sweet. Overall, Sadie Hawkins Slam Dance is a very fun Pop Punk listen that brings back the wonderful feelings of mosh pits, school dances, and whatever their combination may be.
Strongest Point(s): There is some cool guitar work in Sadie Hawkins Slam Dance. It finds that nice middle ground between lead and rhythm playing that ultimately serves to boost the song's drive. There is a wildness to the tune, similar to being in a mosh pit, that is both welcoming and very exciting. The lyrics tell a very fun story. They have the same nostalgia as meeting someone special at a Rock show, but with a rougher outcome.
Target Audience Appeal: Fans of Rock and Pop Punk will enjoy Sadie Hawkins Slam Dance by Chuck W Chapman.
Artist target suggestions: MxPx, NoFx, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, Goldfinger, Blink 182, Newfound Glory, Green Day, Kiss, The Casualties, Anti Flag, Alkaline Trio
