So Dirty the Flamingos - I'll Take You On
Alternative/Alt.Rock, Americana, Singer Songwriter
Toronto, Canada

Overall Impression: "I'll Take You On" is the latest release from Canadian indie rockers So Dirty the Flamingos. Co-penned by lead singer/guitarist Lionel Doe and bassist Adam Drury, this track combines gritty, muscular rock riffs with a melodic pop sensibility to form a bold, confident sound that's as powerful as it is accessible. Featuring a guitar heavy arrangement that's firmly rooted in place by a rhythm section that plays deep in the pocket, "I'll Take You On" is the perfect vehicle for Doe's rich, weathered vocals. Highlighted by a final chorus that builds in intensity before finishing in a glorious climax, So Dirty the Flamingos' "I'll Take You On" should have broad audience appeal among rock fans of all genres.

Strongest Point(s): Outstanding production, excellent mix. Great clarity and tonal balance. Guitars sound amazing (especially some of those leads), great bass tone, and the drums have that warm and punchy vintage quality to them. Top notch musicianship, across the board. Vocal production is perfect, great recording of a strong performance. I like the way the background vocals were mixed in this context, very subtle yet effective. Solid opening riff. Fantastic arrangement, the pre chorus really does a nice job providing harmonic and melodic variation. The build at the end is what really sells this track for me, loads of dynamic energy and controlled chaos are present there. Overall, great song and a really polished finished product. Stellar job by everyone who contributed their talents and time on this track.
