Cabal Central - The Tempest
Dance/Electronica, Chill, Deep Bass
Liverpool, United Kingdom

Overall Impression: Brimming with a striking amount of atmosphere and containing a great deal of creative flair, "The Tempest" is an ultra-melodic and texturally fascinating slice of electronica that is both grand in scope and strong in its themes. "The Tempest" is a shining example of how despite being on opposite sides of the planet, two producers with an equally tenacious passion for their craft can successfully come together to craft a track that brilliantly encompasses both of their own unique musical identities. Through an intrinsic collaborative process, Cabal Central has whisked up a fantastic foray into the world of driving synths and body swaying grooves.

Strongest Point(s): The diversity of sounds on display is excellent and the choice to combine both electric and acoustic instruments is an inspired one, this helps give the track its deeply rich texture, one that's filled with a variety of different tones and timbres. Contrast is certainly one of the track's main strengths, the atmosphere-inducing and undeniably smooth quality of the pads when paired with the erratic nature of the bass make for an interesting juxtaposition, similarly with the fusing together of acoustic and electronic drum elements. The weaving together of spoken and sung lyrics works extremely well and again, does a lot to heighten the track's excellent use of tonal contrast. There is a great emphasis on melody in "The Tempest", and the way in which the song's various themes are being continually developed is a testament to how well musically versed its writers/producers are, this makes for a consistently engaging and cohesive arrangement that is thoroughly absorbing from start to finish.

Target Audience Appeal: This is definitely a tune for lovers of electronica, and lovers of the genre, along with its various sub-genres, will find a lot to love about "The Tempest".

Artist target suggestions: Massive Attack, Deadmau5, Depeche Mode, Sub Focus, Nero, Faithless, Ampyx, The Thrillseekers, Faro Alip, Orbital, Tiesto, Matteo Tura, F.O.O.L
