Frederick Wilfert - Those Roads Will Meet Again
Alternative/Alt. Rock, Rock & Roll, Ballads
Tennessee, United States

Overall Impression: "Those Roads Will Meet Again" is the heartfelt new release from singer/songwriter Frederick Wilfert. This stirring ballad tells the emotional tale of an enduring romantic relationship that has seemingly run its course, and features only a simple yet effective piano accompaniment to Wilfert's smooth tenor vocal delivery. Additional background vocals provide harmonic depth and color to a simply beautiful melody line, as Wilfert finds solace in the hopes that a dying flame can somehow be rekindled, later on down the road. A truly elegant tune, Frederick Wilfert's "Those Roads Will Meet Again" should delight both folk and traditional pop audiences, thanks to its classic melody and thoughtful lyrics.

Strongest Point(s): Great recording, very intimate capture of both the vocals and the piano. Nice arrangement, I like how you restated the intro in order to set up the harmonic shift of the bridge, from D to C. The piano style is well suited to the song, it has a real "Ken Carpenter", classic pop approach. The backing vocals add a nice texture, especially in that bridge section. Lyrically, its very sweet, without being overly sentimental. There's a wonderful realism to your writing that gives this song an earnest quality that listeners should be able to easily identify with, on a more personal level. Overall, it's a very strong song and a nice production. Excellent job, all around!
