Aaron Marlowe - Go On, Hero
Rock, Singer Songwriter
Tennessee, United States

Overall Impression: Tennessee-based Aaron Marlowe has released his new song Go On, Hero. The tune opens with a jangly rock feel, but quickly develops into hard rock with heavy guitars and double kick drums. Marlowe’s vocals carry the tune with confidence. Their bright, almost nasal, tone projects an everyman quality that adds a personal touch to the message behind the lyrics. Lyrically, Go On, Hero is a song about raising children, growing up, and absent fathers. Taking a sarcastic tone, the lyrics describe a father figure who is there in the beginning, but leaves whenever is convenient for him, all while addressing him as a hero. Overall, Go On, Hero by Aaron Marlowe is a hard hitting rock tune with a personal message and unique sound.

Strongest Point(s): The instrumental work is very cool in this tune, it has elements of early 2000’s emo and hard rock, while the vocals lean more toward an R.E.M. / Foo Fighters sound. The combination makes a for a unique overall sound.
