Wayne Madder - Crack In The Wall
Blues, Rhythm & Blues , Jazz Blues, Soul
Greenbank , Canada

Overall Impression: Canadian based singer/songwriter Wayne Madder describes the feelings of waking up to realize that you are involved in a failing relationship, with his shuffling, bittersweet Blues number Crack In The Wall. As Madder begins a steady guitar riff and relates waking up to see a crack in the wall, he describes how he tries to go about his normal morning routine, while being unable to shake a nagging feeling that he relates while repeating the lines, "I think your love is failing me". Then as a haunting wurlitzer joins in the chorus, Madder rhetorically asks his lover, why they have such a strong effect on his very existence? And asks how he is unable to walk away from them, when they are constantly hurting him? Even as Madder relates the many times he's been the victim of a dishonest lover, it's obvious in the pained tone of his voice, that he's going to keep trying to make it work, no matter how much it hurts. And as Madder plays a hopeful guitar solo, he again repeats the lines, "I think your love is failing me", as the music fades to a hushed silence, leaving the listener to wonder what will become of our troubled lovers?

Strongest Point(s): Very emotional delivery in the vocals. Wayne sounds like he is writing from personal experience, not relating someone else's lyrics. The production quality is great all around, with strong, thick bass, a full drum kit, and clean, but also just dirty enough, lead Blues guitar and organ. Mixing and mastering push all of the instruments to their best levels, with a very glued together mix, that just sits really well in a variety of listening environments

Target Audience Appeal: For fans of traditional and modern Blues music. Specifically Texas and Chicago style Blues. Emotive & Personable lyrics make the song easy to relate to for people of all demographics. The solid production quality of this track should help push this song out to sync agencies for film and show placement.

Artist target suggestions: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Roy Buchanan, B.B. King, Robin Trower, Seasick Steve, John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, Robert Cray, Jonny Lang, The Black Keys, Marcus King, John Hammond, Tab Benoit, etc.
