Dennis Casey - Git on Back to Ealum
Folk
Tennessee, U.S.

Overall Impression: Singer/songwriter Dennis Casey serves up raw and unfiltered Americana, on his release of "Git on Back to Ealum". This track is highlighted by a sparse and rustic sound, with Casey's gentle tenor vocal backed only by primitive folk guitar, save for the harmonica outro. His lyrics profess his love for a small town in the Florida panhandle, capturing the idyllic isolation and unique sense of community that's often associated with rural American life, warts and all. Indie folk fans in particular will appreciate the quirky charm and genuine nature of Dennis Casey's "Git on Back to Ealum", available for streaming on all major music platforms.

Strongest Point(s): Rough production, but it lends itself to the authenticity of the song. Guitar is pretty rough as well, gives the track a very primitive and experimental feel. That said, it does provide a relentless chugging rhythm that is almost hypnotic. Nice harp solo on the outro. Solid vocal performance with an easygoing delivery style that's perfect for traditional folk. Lyrics do a great job of painting a picture of rural America, with all of its highlights and challenges. Overall this is a compelling piece of contemporary Americana, presented in its most unrefined and natural form. This track should draw listeners from trad folk as well as indie folk communities. Great job!
