JJ and The Mystics - Soul Tribe
Rock, Blues, Reggae Soul
Texas, United States
Overall Impression: JJ and The Mystics deliver an electrifying bit of blues rock, with the release of their single "Soul Tribe." This adrenaline fueled, guitar driven track conveys an uplifting message of unity and devotion, and features an inspirational celebratory chorus that's certain to raise the spirits of even the most jaded listeners. Lead singer and guitarist JJ Raschel is in fine form here both vocally and instrumentally, giving an energized performance that's highlighted by a scorching solo leading into the rousing final chorus section. JJ and The Mystics' "Soul Tribe" should resonate strongly across a wide range of pop/rock audiences, thanks in part to its positive themes and impressive musicianship.
Strongest Point(s): Outstanding production, solid mix. Tremendous energy. Excellent groove, the hand drums add a nice additional rhythmic element. Great guitar tones, nice variety there. Wonderful harmonic contrast between the verse and chorus. The post-chorus vocalized hook was a nice touch that should help immensely with audience engagement, further adding to the song's anthemic quality. Stellar lyrical content, exceedingly positive and inspiring messaging. Awesome guitar solo, exceptional chops and melodic sense. Fantastic track overall, from top to bottom. Terrific work by everyone involved!
