MIDI MASTA - Bukhoor
Hip Hop, Arabic, Electronic
Tokyo, Japan
Overall Impression: "Bukhoor" is an exotic new release from composer/producer MIDI MASTA. Bubbling middle eastern percussion fuses with ethnic strings and flutes on this track to establish a mysterious and exciting atmosphere, transporting the listener to a desert bazaar. A beautifully evocative melody is passed between instruments, building in intensity and incredibly rich layers of texture, before culminating with a precipitous climax. At a short but sweet 78 seconds, MIDI MASTA's "Bukhoor" is perfect for any music lover wishing to take a brief sonic sojourn into the Arabic world.
Strongest Point(s): Outstanding production, excellent mix. Fantastic atmosphere, very transportive. Great instrumentation and a nice arrangement, solid build. Percussion sounds really good. The sound design elements work well early on. Wonderfully haunting melody, nice voicing. I liked the short oud riff you used at the end. Overall, it's a terrific composition and production, albeit somewhat abbreviated. Nice work, all around!
