Oscar de Fontana - Dejame
Latin, Vocal
Florida, United States

Overall Impression: Legendary Cuban born singer Oscar De Fonatana brings us a gorgeous piece of amorous Latin pop, with his ballad "Dejame." Included on his 1997 greatest hits collection Lo Mejor de Oscar De Fonatna, this romantic number features a lavish traditional pop arrangement of lush strings that's punctuated by light brass and delicate piano, gradually building in intensity from a sweetly restrained ballad, until it finally reaches its fiery climax. Oscar De Fontana delivers an incredibly passionate performance here, and is clearly in the prime of his singing career when this track was recorded. Emotionally stirring, Oscar De Fontana's "Dejame" is a classic song from a seasoned Latin pop artist at the height of his prowess, and should resonate with listeners just as strongly today as it did when it was first released.

Strongest Point(s): Outstanding production, amazing song. Great dynamic build to the composition, and to the vocal performance as well. Wonderful string arrangement, and the brass parts add beautiful texture and color. Phenomenal vocals from a true master of the genre, I can't say enough about the quality of your voice; the power and presence is unrivaled. All in all, it's an utterly stunning track. They really don't make them like this anymore. Just a pure classic pop ballad, that was an absolute honor to have been given this opportunity to review.

Target Audience Appeal: Fans of Traditional Pop, Latin Pop, Latin Ballad, Adult Contemporary

Artist target suggestions: Julio Iglesias, Jose Feliciano, Pedro Fernandez, Pedro Vargas, Juan Gabriel, Vincente Fernandez, Englebert Humperdinck, Burt Bacharach, Barry Mannilow
