Midnite Johnny Band - Livin' Like A Trucker
Blues, Rock
Florida, United States

Overall Impression: Midnite Johnny Band has released their cover of Livin’ Like A Trucker. Staying true to the original, this cover of Livin’ Like A Trucker breaks down the door with a rockin’ attitude and driving guitar groove. The band pushes forward with a clear respect for the path paved by Gallagher but adds their own twists and turns. Substituting one guitar with an organ, the tune adds a welcomed new color that improves the overall sound. The vocals cut through with a gritty rock edge that encourages bad behavior and getting into trouble. With a biting tone, the guitar solo rips across the highway leaving listeners in the dust. Overall, Livin’ Like A Trucker by Midnite Johnny Band is a solid cover that stays true to the original while adding the band’s own voice.

Strongest Point(s): The organ adds such a cool color to the groove. The original is very guitar heavy, almost too guitar heavy. This version smooths out the sound with the keys.

Target Audience Appeal: Fans of Blues Rock will dig Midnite Johnny Band’s cover of Livin’ Like A Trucker

Artist target suggestions: Rory Gallagher, Howlin’ Wolf, Eric Clapton, John Lee Hooker, John Mayer, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Joe Bonamasa, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, John Putnam
