Overall Impression: Fusing poignant lyrical themes, excellent performances, and tremendous spirit, "Destination Unknown" is a deeply powerful and uplifting song that has the power to empower, a deeply commendable trait for any song to possess. Rags Moody III gives an exhilarating performance that is bursting at the seams with both genuine heart and honesty whilst managing to effortlessly blend elements of pop, rock, R&B, and folk together with great confidence and flair, the results are highly rewarding.
Strongest Point(s): The lyrics are wonderfully written, not only is Rags Moody III a master wordsmith but there is a profoundness to his lyric writing that has the power to really strike a chord with listeners, and when combined with his sultry delivery, they really do jump out at the listener, heightening their impact tenfold. Melody plays an integral role within the track and there is an abundance of it throughout, aside from the fantastic vocal lines, some extra melodic flair is injected into the track courtesy of a brilliant lead guitar interlude that, for a brief moment, takes the track into slightly rockier territory, a brilliant way to provide contrast to the main R&B and soul style the track adopts. The arrangement is particularly strong and the track has a great natural flow to it that gently carries the listener from start to finish, ensuring they are fully invested in the music and are able to experience the song in a purposeful yet easy-going manner.
Target Audience Appeal: There's a great fusion of genres on offer here, rock, soul, pop, and R&B to name a few, I can certainly imagine this appealing to a wide audience.
