Isadora's Dream - I Am Green
Alternative/Alt.Rock
Adelaide, Australia
Overall Impression: Steeped in a thoroughly captivating sense of atmosphere and boasting striking creativity, "I am Green" is both a deeply poignant and absorbing piece of songwriting that gracefully whisks listeners up and takes them on a fascinating sonic journey filled with harmonic intrigue, beautifully expressed melodies, and profoundly deep lyrical themes. Isadora's Dream has done a wonderful job of crafting a thoroughly engaging soundscape that is an absolute pleasure to get lost in, not only are the performances wonderfully accomplished but Isadora's Dream has managed to capture a beautiful snapshot of a time in music that is dearly missed. There is something undeniably "classic" about "I am Green" that echoes the grandeur of groups such as Pink Floyd and the majestic vocal qualities of artists such as Kate Bush, this results in a piece of music that keeps audiences firmly engrossed from those very first delicate touches of the piano, all the way to the gentle acoustic guitar melody that elegantly brings the music to a close.
Strongest Point(s): Whilst it is clearly evident that this is a wonderfully performed track that has been both deftly arranged and creatively written, a particular highlight of "I am Green" is the way in which the artists have approached the song regarding the mix and overall production of the track to make it sound as if it's a product of a past time, it has a definite 70's aesthetic to it that heightens its effectiveness tenfold. It's clear that a lot of thought has gone into how the track can aesthetically resemble many of the artists and songs that have inspired the group and as a result, the song feels both wholly authentic and lovingly put together, the attention to detail is truly inspiring.
Target Audience Appeal: This is a strong folk and prog rock-inspired rock tune that lovers of these styles will undoubtedly find themselves connecting with.
Artist target suggestions: Kate Bush, David Sylvian, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Stevie Nicks, Joni Mitchell, This Mortal Coil, The Moody Blues, The Alan Parsons Project, Camel, Mike Oldfield
