paul goLian - Hey You
Folk, Rock, Alternative
Michigan, United States

Overall Impression: paul goLian has released the new rock tune Hey You. Opening with bright guitars over a poppy groove, Hey You instantly reveals a British Pop Rock sound and attitude. Taking on the topic of lost love, the lyrics serve as an anthem for the broken hearted. Despite the pain behind the lyrics, they are sung with a cheerful tone. Complemented by the upbeat instrumental work, the poppy vocals add a cool quality to the tune and almost serve as a distraction from the lyrical heart break. As the tune progresses, the conflicting moods between the lyrics and vocals nearly reach a breaking point but are saved by the bridge. Listeners are then treated to an a cappella section before being brought home with the final chorus. Overall, Hey You by paul goLian is a cool new rock tune with enough catchiness to stay in your head all day.

Strongest Point(s): The overall poppy mood really leaves the strongest impression with this tune. The pain behind the lyrics almost becomes an after thought because the poppy mood is so strong.
