D.S. Wilson - Life with You
Jazz, Moods, Instrumental
Washington, United States

Overall Impression: Sharp and sophisticated, D.S. Wilson's "Life With You" recalls the sound of the great jazz fusion bands of the 1970s. The Chicago based composer/multi-instrumentalist is in fine form on this mid tempo number that features Wilson on alto saxophone. Highlighted by a top shelf rhythm section, "Life With You" affords Wilson the freedom to explore the expressive upper register of his instrument, eliciting a soulful yet eloquent tone that's best illustrated during the exquisite solo sections. Jazz fans across the board will certainly find a lot to love about "Life With You", and should check out D.S. Wilson's other fine work, available on all major streaming platforms.

Strongest Point(s): Outstanding production, really nice mix. Bass sounds amazing, great warmth and tone. Drums sound crisp and punchy. Great sense of "in the pocket." Backing horns sit nicely in the mix. Incredible saxophone performance, absolutely inspired. Fantastic composition and arrangement. Excellent harmonic contrast between the A and B sections. Love that deep d minor bomb you drop around 1:13, and then again at the end. Overall, simply an amazing track. Very nice job!
