Overall Impression: Strong vocal performances and a keen eye for melody help make "It's True" a memorable R&B tune and Coopzilla obviously knows the genre inside and out. With its excellent vocal layering and catchy lyrical hooks, "It's True" is a surprisingly atmospheric track that contains subtle hints from a number of diverse genres, ranging from neo-soul, jazz, hip-hop, house, and of course R&B, helping make it a particularly interesting listening experience.
Strongest Point(s): There's a great deal of melody here, and elements such as the piano and electric guitar work really well to add a sense of melodic maturity to the track. The interplay between the various vocal parts is also a strong point, the way the lyrics are spread across the various performers really heightens their effectiveness and gives them a great dynamic that bounces between the vocalist. The contrast between vocalists and their individual vocal styles is also a great creative decision, it offers plenty of tonal variation throughout the track and helps keep the listener heavily invested in the song.
