Urban Bridge - Psycho
Rock, Pop, Brit-Pop
Berlin, Germany
Overall Impression: With its brilliant retro synth styling and bombastic sense of energy, "Psycho" is a rip rollicking pop-rocker that contains both a feeling of gravitas and accomplishment. Urban Bridge knows their craft well and have whisked up a dazzling array of excellent performances, deep melodic variety, and a profound sense of musicianship, culminating in a fantastically catchy and highly-listenable tune that's wrapped up in a highly polished production that will allow it to stand proudly, and with authority, amongst the many popular pop-rock/alternative acts of today.
Strongest Point(s): The inclusion of synth works extremely well, and adds a great deal to the song's overall texture, providing further tonal layers that really add to the track's already detailed soundscape. The lyrics have a great amount of bite to them and are paired perfectly with a very strong lead vocal performance that boasts great range and a brilliant sense of attitude that fits this style of song perfectly. Dynamics play an integral role within the track and it's great to see that this is an area that has clearly had a lot of thought put into it. The track ebbs and flows brilliantly between moments of loud and quiet, soft and hard, giving the song a dynamic contour that heightens the effectiveness of the arrangement tenfold. As already mentioned, the recording and mix are excellent. The recording has captured the raw energy of the band marvelously well and manages to strike the perfect balance between both being polished and somewhat gritty. Every element of the track contains superb detail and clarity, resulting in a mix that is full of life and most importantly, accurately represents the solid songwriting behind it.
Target Audience Appeal: This is a great blend of pop and alternative rock styles and I'm sure fans of these styles will find a lot to like about "Psycho"
Artist target suggestions: Nothing But Thieves, Daughtry, Default, Waterparks, DREAMERS, CHVRCHES, Larkin Poe, The Killers, Of Monsters and Men, Royal Blood, The Vaccines, Blossoms, The Hunna
