Jerome Perian - Don’t Get Sassy (Oh No You Didn’t)
Country, Folk, Jazz, Chamber Orchestra Music
New Jersey, United States

Overall Impression: Jerome Perian has released the new jazz tune Don't Get Sassy (Oh No You Didn't). Opening with a syncopated sax melody, Don't Get Sassy continually adds layers of sound until a heavy groove emerges. The deep, robust, qualities captured from the brass and winds create a dense atmosphere that nearly crosses the line between awe-inspiring and overwhelming. Melodies seem to endlessly intertwine and fold into one another. As the trumpet solo begins, listeners are treated with soaring lines that float effortlessly above the spacious foundation. It is only when the main melody returns that the feelings of wonder and astonishment begin to subside. Overall, Don't Get Sassy (Oh No You Didn't) by Jerome Perian is cool new jazz tune that fills the most expansive of spaces and carries listeners the entire way.

Strongest Point(s): The expansive mood set by the groove really stands out in this tune. The main melody however, should also be noted for its staying-power.

Target Audience Appeal: Fans of modern Jazz will dig Don't Get Sassy (Oh No You Didn't) by Jerome Perian

Artist target suggestions: Snarky Puppy, B.B. King, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, RSS Trio, Glenn MIller, Benny Goodman, Wes Montgomery, Ron Carter, Jim Hall, Louis Armstrong
