GClair - When the king comes
Christian/Gospel, Pop, Reggae
Bridgetown, Barbados
Overall Impression: “When the king comes”, is the latest release from artist and singer/songwriter G Clair. The song is a contemporary fusion of Christian, gospel and Caribbean music with that tropical island flair, but also expresses, the belief and testament of hope and faith in god. The song has a retro 70's feel, and will appeal to fans and listeners of Christian, gospel, funk and Caribbean music.
Strongest Point(s): The instrumental performance is the strongest element of this piece as it truly makes the melody and tone of the song come to life. The song begins with a bang, literally as the pulsating sounds of steel drums create the momentum and rhythm of the piece, with that familar sound of the tropics. Clair has made that sound a bit more modern, by intergrating a synthesizing effect into the mix for an almost dance/club effect which is a suprise. The song includes long instrumentals that include the complimentary combination of keyboards, drums, flute, bass and synthesizer and includes pauses between verses.
Target Audience Appeal: For fans of Christian/Gospel, funk and Caribbean pop
Artist target suggestions: Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, Lee Greenwood, Vince Gill, Chris Tomlin, Matthew West, Jars of Clay, SONICFLOOd, Switchfoot, House of Heroes, Casting Crowns, MercyMe, Curtis Mayfield, Ben E.King and Bobby Womack.
