ADRIAS - Little Goblin Bastards
Metal, Alternative Rock/Rock
Tennessee, United States
Overall Impression: If I was to best describe "Little Goblin Bastards" (What a title!) I would describe it as a rip-rollicking cosmic journey through the rock ages, one filled with a plethora of interesting twists and turns and an abundance of intrigue. With its eclectic mix of metal, hard rock, and prog, "Little Goblin Bastards" is a marvelously quirky epic that is full of adventure. ADRIAS have a clear and defined musical vision and it's great to see passionate musicians being bold with their creativity in order to push their songwriting into new exciting grounds.
Strongest Point(s): The mixing of styles is certainly a highlight of the track, the fusing of rock, metal, and prog is excellent. It's clear that there is a broad range of influences woven into the track and being a lover of all these genres myself, it was fascinating to hear all the interesting nods to these styles and their various sub-genres. At 7:28, the track certainly leans heavily into obvious prog territory, but like any great prog track, a great deal is done to ensure the listener is always kept continually engaged from start to finish. Inspired songwriting and solid performances across the board are the keys to what makes "Little Goblin Bastards" work so well and whether its interesting changes in texture, tempo, or melody, to name just a few key areas, the song is continually mixing things up to ensure it feels as if it's always progressing. All this culminates in a very interesting listening experience that I certainly enjoyed.
Target Audience Appeal: This definitely has classic prog rock/metal vibes and fans of these genres will have an extremely fun time with "Little Goblin Bastards".
Artist target suggestions: Black Sabbath, Savatage, Anvil, Mercyful Fate, King Diamond, King's X, Fates Warning, Heaven & Hell, Camel, Orange Goblin
