Luc Pong - Keep Breathin'
Pop, Alternative, Power Pop, Synthpop, Pop Rock, Post-Grunge, Retrowave
Georgia, United States

Overall Impression: Electronic project Luc Pong gives us a indie rock/pop punk-disco synth heartbreak anthem in Keep Breathin'. This is a break-up song that will make you want to dance and celebrate the glory of heartache. This single is a love letter to the broken-hearted that find consolation on the dance floor.

Strongest Point(s): Such great drumming. The best part of this song is that the uplifting melody contradicts the sad lyrics - happy sad music - like Robyn's Dancing On My Own. I really enjoyed the dramatic opening synth and the disco beat that kicks in halfway. You've achieved all of your artist targets through influences, yet creating your own distinct style. This track is a synth pop gem! Yes, I can hear the heavy influence of sounds between 2001-2011, as well as the 80s. But the melody, arrangement and dreamy synth with echoing, has a timeless quality, but it's a current sound as well, with nostalgia and the 00s having a comeback.

Target Audience Appeal: This song has a universal appeal with it's blend of genres, disco type beat, emotional core in melody and lyrics, and it's the type of song that can easily fit any situation or mood. I suggest sending this song to streaming platform production companies that are looking for original songs for new shows. Beyond that, this song is fit for coffee shops, bars, and could easily be implemented in streaming platform playlists (consider Spotify's mix tapes) to generate buzz. Keep Breathin' will really speak to Millennials (such as myself) who grew up to 80s synth new wave and 90s shoegaze, then later came of age with indie rock bands of the 00s. This is a great project, and I hope you keep transforming your songs into a larger electronic/techno body of work. People who love indie rock, synth, pop, emo, dream pop, shoegaze, electronic, disco and techno, just to name a few genres, will love this project

Artist target suggestions: LCD Soundsystem, Postal Service, Cut Copy, Nite Jewel, Hot Chip, Junior Boys, Holy Ghost, De Lux, Tanlines, YACHT, Neon Indian, Metronomy, Franz Ferdinand, The Last Shadow Puppets, Blondie, Altered Images, Pet Shop Boys. I believe you've reached almost all of your artist target suggestions, including Banks, Broken Bells, Broods, Charli XCX, Chromatics, Chvrches, Empire of The Sun, Foxes, Future Islands, Hurts, Ladytron.
