Lisa Doll & the Rock n Roll Romance - Do The Bummer
Alternative/Alt. Rock, Garage Rock, Punk
Maryland, United States

Overall Impression: Filled to the brim with a hearty dose of unbridled attitude and wrapped up in a marvelously dirty and grainy production, "Do The Bummer" hearken back to the days of classic stripped-back punk, with its unapologetic vocal snarl, breakneck speed, and impenitent nature, Lisa Doll & the Rock'n'Roll Romance deliver a quick-fire, straight to the point musical statement that grabs you and gives you a good shake before deciding to let you go.

Strongest Point(s): One could describe punk music as being the most unapologetically unpolished of the music genres, however, this rather rough-around-the-edges aesthetic has always been part of the point, its "against the grain" stance is what makes the style one of the most honest and authentic, and "Do The Bummer" captures the raw essence of the punk genre brilliantly, this is simply a snapshot of a band doing their thing, and the result is an organic performance that's rawness only adds to the tracks overall effectiveness. The lead vocals have plenty of bite to them and embody the spirit of the genre perfectly, whilst the backing band provides an uncompromising rhythmic assault on the senses. At 1:50, this is certainly a sprightly tune, but it definitely works well in this context, it helps the song sustain a high level of intensity without overstaying its welcome, which is not an easy balance to strike

Target Audience Appeal This is certainly a song for punk lovers, short, sweet, and straight to the point.
