The World Without Us - Silver Tongues
Metal, Post Hardcore, Metalcore
Nebraska, United States

Overall Impression: With its crushing riffs, brilliant melodic detail, and striking vocal intensity, "Silver Tongues" is the epic title track from the upcoming The World Without Us album, filled with excellent performances and unbridled conviction, this is a terrific modern metal anthem that manages to strike a great balance between understated ambience and sheer ferocity. Great work!

Strongest Point(s): One particular element this particular track manages to accomplish very well is contrast. The opening sets the sombre tone of the track perfectly, combining ambient reverb-laden guitar, layered vocals, and deep rumbling toms to really conjure up a sense of atmosphere that superbly juxtaposes the latter, more ferocious sections of the song. As with the metalcore genre in general, the lead vocals work into the song's use of tonal contrast perfectly, mixing conventionally sung lines with that strikingly brutal snarl that's synonymous with the style, all the while interesting speech excerpts from a popular Mathew McConaughy motivational speech are interspersed throughout. This works surprisingly well in this context, helping to add to the songs overall feeling of meaning and philosophy.

Target Audience Appeal: This is certainly for the metalcore fans out there, "Silver Tongues" interweaves its mature lyrical concepts and melodic ideas together extremely well.

Artist target suggestions: All That Remains, The Amity Affliction, Five Finger Death Punch, We Came As Romans, Architects, Wage War, Memphis May Fire, August Burns Red, Bury Tomorrow, ERRA, The Contortionist, Of Mice And Men, Dance Gavin Dance, I Prevail
