Adam Cirillo - Hitler’s Tank
Alternative/Alt. Rock, Singer Songwriter, Folk
Adelaide, Australia
Overall Impression: Adam Cirillo perfectly marries folk, pop and punk, with his latest single "Hitler's Tank" which echoes artists like Bob Dylan and the early days of the Talking Heads with hits like "Pyscho Killer." Cirillo's latest single sounds like it's straight out of a Wes Anderson film soundtrack, perfectly balancing the serious and the fun. The politically charged lyrics are poured over a Velvet Underground-type groovy beat that's made for dancing. "Hitler's Tank" will also bring joy the 00s indie rock lovers who've been yearning for guitar and drums to have a come back
Strongest Point(s): Among the things that stood out to me here, includes the winning refrain - the word/sound repetition and to the refrain's melody. I also like the high energy in this song throughout the 3:26 minutes and the many layers of sound happening all at once, including the moments of anticipation leading up to the refrain. This is a well crafted single which is why I am not adding suggestions for improvements.
Target Audience Appeal: This song will appeal to audiences who love psychedelic rock, folk rock, post-punk, alternative rock, indie and garage rock. "Hitler's Tank" will be embraced by indie culture enthusiasts, audiences who love psychedelic rock sounds like. The Velvet Undergroud, accompanied by folksy political lyrics Ă la Bob Dylan. This song will also win over indie rock audiences with its 00s flavor in its punk-ish simplistic style. This song sounds like it belongs in an indie movie soundtrack, a cool coffee shop, a cool show on a streaming service, and or meant to be heard live in concert. This song should be included in relevant playlists, and it's lucky to perfectly fit in a range of genres in playlists: 60s, 90s
Artist target suggestions: Velvet Underground, Dr. Dog, Modest Mouse, Vampire Weekend, Bob Dylan, R. Stevie Moore, John Cale, Galaxie 500, Mac DeMarco, Phantom Planet, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Leonard Cohen, Donovan, The Byrds, The White Stripes, David Byrne, Talking Heads, HAIM
