Bent Not Broken - Tuesday Night
Rock, Metal, Alternative
Munich, Germany

Overall Impression: Veteran German rock trio Bent Not Broken triumphantly return, with the release of "Tuesday Night" from their 2021 album Pretty Unplugged. A sonic departure from their earlier material, Bent Not Broken explore a more stripped down acoustic side of rock with a greater emphasis placed on songwriting, and it really pays off for them on "Tuesday Night." Lead singer and lyricist JΓΆrn Kachelriess explores themes of longing and loneliness brought on by the 2020 pandemic, on this track that features intricately picked guitar riffs, soulful slide leads, and warm, punchy drums and bass that round out the sound and provide a solid rhythmic foundation for Kachelreiss' distinctive vocal stylings. Bent Not Broken's "Tuesday Night" should have broad audience appeal, both among rock music enthusiasts and fans of high quality songwriting as well.

Strongest Point(s): Excellent production, really nice mix. The vocal is out in front, making it clear and giving the track an outstanding intimate quality. Guitars sound great, the different parts blend well. Really strong riff that serves as the core of the song. Solid arrangement, nice dynamic variation. Drums and percussion work really well in the context of the song, thats exactly how acoustic rock drums should sound (the tambourine is vital here, it's really the glue that brings this whole track together). Good vocal performance, nice delivery. Lyrically, it's strong. Vivid imagery, and the sense of yearning and restlessness certainly comes through. Great song, all of the parts really come together as a whole to create something special. Very nice job, all around!

Target Audience Appeal: Fans of Rock, Alt Rock, Folk Rock, Acoustic Rock, Emo Rock, Singer/Songwriter

Artist target suggestions: Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains. Days of the New, Soundgarden, Jane's Addiction, Dashboard Confessional, Thrice, Taking Back Sunday, Rise Against, Daughtry, Smashing Pumpkins, Alkaline Trio, R.E.M.
