Rick Taylor - Everything is Everywhere
Rock, Synth Pop, Blues
Preston, United Kingdom

Overall Impression: With its incredibly strong sense of groove, melody, and feel, "Everything is Everywhere" is a loving nod to the reggae genre, boasting strong performances and excellent writing that flows exceptionally well and contains ample amounts of heart and soul. Considering this is Rick Taylors first foray into reggae songwriting, I would say this is a resounding success! Rick manages to capture the essence of the genre extremely well, from the well-chosen instrumentation to the instantly recognizable reggae tinted rhythms, it's all here and more!

Strongest Point(s): The performances are brilliant and are a real highlight of the track, the vocals fit perfectly, and the lead vocalist sings with great nuance and purpose, it also helps that the lead is backed by sublime backing vocals, adding a great amount of added warmth to the part, as well as providing a great amount of tonal contrast. The bass lines are killer, outlining the harmony with great intricacy whilst infusing the track with style aplenty and the guitars have that quintessential "scratch" to them, a trademark of the genre that firmly cements the song within the reggae style. It would be a shame if the strong writing and performances were let down by a sub-par recording, and I'm happy to say that this is certainly not the case, the production and overall mix are superb, showcasing crisp clarity and depth whilst simultaneously retaining the character traits of both the instruments and performances, great stuff!

Target Audience Appeal: This will undoubtedly appeal to fans of the reggae genre and I'm sure audiences who love the style will strongly connect with the song.

Artist target suggestions: Eddy Grant, Bob Marley & The Wailers, Jimmy Cliff, Steel Pulse, The Heptones, The Specialsm Mighty Diamonds, Ken Boothe, John Holt, Bob Andy, UB40, Dennis Brown, Peter Tosh, Gregory Isaacs
