Rakka Rakka Records- DETHHAUS - Track Three
Alternative/Alt. Rock, Metal, Folk
Florida, United States

Overall Impression: With its unbridled energy, quirky sense of melody, and uncompromising raw nature, track three from the self-titled debut release by instrumental outfit DETHHAUS, is nothing short of a sonic assault on the senses. Consisting of Johnny Void from X-Ray Youth handling all the guitar, bass, and synth duties and Justin Welch from Elastica on drums, DETHHAUS serves up a juicy slice of explosive punk-infused attitude that grabs you from the very beginning and refuses to let you go until the very end. No time is wasted as we begin our journey with a refreshingly straight-to-the-point intro consisting of both bombastic drums and one of the dirtiest riffs I've heard in quite a while (We all love an undeniably dirty riff) from there we head into what I can best describe as a somewhat "Sci-Fi in feel" verse section with the introduction of a marvelously off-the-wall and rather unconventional synth melody that is wonderfully wacky and weird in equal measure, we swiftly move to what I believe serves as the chorus with a cacophony of cymbal crashes, synth stabs, and growling guitar slides. At a mere 1:57, this is a short but undeniably sweet and intriguing journey into the unknown, and I dig it! Make sure to check out the full release at: https://dethhaus.hearnow.com/

Strongest Point(s): There is excellent intensity to this track that keeps the listener firmly on their toes at all times and the way the track melds a few different genres together is both inspired and well handled. There are elements of Alt. Rock, Punk, and Industrial styles layered on top of one another and it makes for a uniquely engaging experience that successfully manages to get its point across in a short amount of time. Melodically there is actually quite a bit of depth to be found here, often taking interesting and unexpected twists and turns here and there and managing to feel both somewhat uneasy and yet, rather captivating at the same time. The riffs contain plenty of bite to them whilst the performances contain a great amount of conviction and purpose, this is a group that has a clear vision, and that feeling very much comes through the music. The simple yet effective instrumentation of just guitar, bass, drums, and synth help create a surprisingly thick and textured soundscape that contains enough tonal character and color to keep things sounding strikingly fresh and varied throughout. It will be interesting to see what DETHHAUS does next and I look forward to hearing how they continue to develop their own very unique sound.

Target Audience Appeal: There are definitely elements of Punk and Alt. Rock in this song, but I would also have a look at Industrial/Punk instrumental music as well, there's are certainly elements of that sound in here, just something worth checking out.

Artist target suggestions: Cyanotic, Unter Null, I Think We Broke Something, New Order, Nine Inch Nails, Hate Dept, Gravity Kills, Muse, KMDFM, Kidneythieves, Blutengel, Chris Keya
