Outsource - You Might As Well
Dance/Electronica, Synthpop, EBM
Texas, United States
Overall Impression: With its hard-hitting synth, catchy melodic hooks, and undeniable sense of style, "You Might As Well" is both a confident and sonically captivating piece of mature songwriting. Outsource blends genres together effortlessly to create a hard-hitting track that grabs the listener and doesn't let go, great work!
Strongest Point(s): I love the way different genres have been melded together in this track, it makes for a fascinating listen and feels very unique in nature. The vocal style encapsulates the "New Romantic" genre perfectly, whilst the electric guitars infuse elements of rock and metal, this is further strengthened by electro-inspired styles courtesy of the synth hooks. The instrumentation is great, providing an abundance of contrasting textures and tonal variation, the grit of the guitars, the understated vocals, the prominent synth, all combine to create a captivating soundscape that immerses the listener and keeps them engaged throughout. The overall production is strong and has a sense of urgency about it that really jumps out at you. All parts are easily distinguishable from one another and sit very well in the mix, offering great clarity and polish whilst retaining plenty of attitude in the performances, excellent!
Target Audience Appeal: Whilst there are definitely elements of Alt-Rock here, I would say this also nicely fits into the Future Pop and Synth Pop genres as well, it bears many elements and I can see fans of these genres really connecting with a track of this nature, It would definitely be worth targeting these areas also.
Artist target suggestions: New Order, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Talk Talk, The Human League, Soft Cell, Camouflage, Visage, Melotron, Beborn Beton, Colony 5, Seabound, Pride And Fall, Mesh, Frozen Plasma, Culture Kultur
