SONG REVIEW 🎵📝 Big Smokin Tree - Brick

radioairplay.com independent new music

Big Smokin Tree - Brick
Blues, Rock, R&B
California, United States

Overall Impression: The energy in this cover is on fire! The horns in the intro come together with that rip-roaring guitar tone to take us on a hell of a ride. Big Smokin Tree has fully nailed the classic blues cadence with an intensely modern sound, and Brick is much more the rule than the exception in this case. Gritty, guttural vocal tones blend with a cocktail of vibrant and energetic sounds to solidify Big Smokin Tree's version of Brick in the modern blues pantheon.

Strongest Point(s): The mix is incredible, full of detail and quality. The musicianship here is stellar with excellent guitar work, a skull crushing bass tone, and a super tasteful and energetic horn line! The guitar solos are everything they should be and bursting with flair. But all of that is icing on the cake compared to the lead vocals - just the right amount of grit and growl to take the listener into another world, but still fully accurate and musical. Fantastic work!

Target Audience Appeal: Any fan of the blues will easily add this to their playlist, no question. Big Smokin Tree's Brick fits the blues format unerringly while still retaining a whole heap of original identity in its delivery. Anyone with an ear for quality should find something to love in this track. Just looked you up on Spotify, and I'm looking forward to whatever else you put out!

Artist target suggestions: B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, Taj Mahal, Otis Rush, Sonny Boy Williamson II, Memphis Slim, Buddy Guy, Robert Johnson
