The Star Prairie Project - The Crying
Alternative/Alt. Rock, Indie Rock, Americana Rock
Wisconsin, United States

Overall Impression: The Crying is the newest release by Wisconsin-based rockers The Star Prairie Project. The opening guitar work is primarily arpeggiated chords with an effects-laden lead part creating a blistering atmosphere. Giving perfect support to the rest of the band and vocals, the drums and bass stay in the background. The lead vocals have a truly Alt. Rock sound that is commanding yet entirely relatable. An ominous warning, the lyrics depict war and fire surrounding us and making its way in. They serve as a message to not take things for granted and avoid missed chances of consciousness. Overall, the song has a solid Alt. Rock sound with great vocals and a steady drive. The Crying by The Star Prairie Project is a killer new rock tune worthy of radio and stage time.

Strongest Point(s): The vocal work is great on this track. The singer's tone is biting and full of presence, and the additional back up vocals add a ton of power.

Target Audience Appeal: Fans of rock from the 90's and early 2000's will feel at home with The Crying by The Star Prairie Project.

Artist target suggestions: Coldplay, Oasis, Creed, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, 3 Doors Down, Lifehouse, The White Stripes, Weezer
