Lovers Wanted - Let's Get Deep
Pop, Indie, Dance
Illinois, United States
Overall Impression: Lovers Wanted dive straight in on their groovy, submersive Let's Get Deep that pulls listeners under with wet synth and warm spattered keys which cross the composition like dappled sunlight. Sensual discontented vocals provide a perfect fuzzy edge, and serve as a guide throughout the track's evolutionary journey from radiating intro, through sinuous melody, to hammering climax and harmonious close, cementing Let's Get Deep as a flowing modern track with Alternative attitude and a shiny Pop finish.
Strongest Point(s): Let's Get Deep serves up beautiful tonal play, with crashing percussion and voluminous synth mixing with multiple tracks on keys, both twinkling and low, to fill out all parts of the sonic range while bleeding together for a cohesive wash of sound. Compositionally speaking the track evolves beautifully, swelling with continuous additions and accents for tons of interest, with the dueling vocal tracks on the chorus, percussive use of high keys, and cathartic bridge ending at approximately 3.04 being particularly notable. The vocal delivery is absolutely beautiful, with an interesting avant-garde delivery that's a bit easier to relate to than some of it's overly polished Pop counterparts, while the instrumentals are fantastically accurate, and bring plenty of additional expressive value to the table.
Target Audience Appeal: Let's Get Deep is a perfect track for the Indie and deeper Alt-Rock scene, with plenty of appeal for Pop and Synth Pop listeners and anyone else with an affection for retro synthesizer and/or great art as well. The piece would be a vibey choice for the credits of a television show, and would sound great on Alternative and independent radio stations, as well as on Lovers Wanted's own single, album, and EP releases. While the song would sound great in a small venue as well, it would be great to shoot for a mid-sized indoor venue or warm-weather outdoor gig (well engineered, of course) with this one, where the band's sound really has room to spread and soak in.
Artist target suggestions: Courtney Barnett, Shiny Toy Guns, Snail Mail, Alison Moyet, The B-52's, Lucy Dacus, Roxy Music, Eurythmics, Bananarama, Sparks, Phoebe Bridgers, Information Society, Roxette, Bryan Ferry
