BanzaiWag - Pictures On A Digital Frame
Alternative/Alt. Rock, Rock, Songwriter
California, United States
Overall Impression: Malin and Vernon, better known as BanzaiWag, have created a harmonious composition with a nostalgic feel in their song "Pictures on a Digital Frame". The soft-spoken, yet heartfelt vocals reel you in as the hypnotic acoustic guitar puts your mind at ease. "Pictures on a Digital Frame" is a beautifully crafted piece that has a relaxed, introspective feel with intriguing lyrics and an easily relatable theme.
Strongest Point(s): I absolutely love the rhythm of the vocals and the way they move the song forward! The lyrics translate a concept of the desire to go back to the good ole days, and expresses feelings that are common to many. The guitar melody/solo section is fantastic, there's a certain warmth in the tone, and it adds a comforting air to the overall feel of the song, I would like to hear more of that incorporated somehow. The vocal harmonies and delicate sonic soundscape of the simple one-word phrase "Over" is perfectly wonderful and pleasing to the ear!
Target Audience Appeal: Fans of Indie and Alternative Rock should give BanzaiWag a listen, especially if you enjoy the 90's rock sound. Listening to BanzaiWag can feel like you are unearthing a vault of classic alternative rock songs that you somehow missed! You will also enjoy BanzaiWag's relaxing and non-abrasive sound, as that seems to be a quality missing from todays in-your-face style.
Artist target suggestions: The Flaming Lips, Candlebox, Soul Asylum, Ween, Grandaddy, The Beta Band, Mercury Rev, Spiritualized, Blur, Oasis, Amfibian
