Cory Vincent - No Fare
Rock, Blues
Washington, United States
Overall Impression: Like a Bull being led from its pen, to face a cowardly Toreador, "No Fare" by Washington's Cory Vincent, comes shuffling forward anxiously on a steady fuzzed out blues riff towards the gate of the ring, waiting to explode through it to destroy his foe. Getting a glimpse of his mortal nemesis, the Bull bucks wildly along with Vincent's explosive guitars for just a moment, before the handlers calm him down just long enough for Vincent to deliver his opening lines, "Roll down easy, I think I'm gonna crash." And as the gates are flung open, the full force of the Bull comes charging out straight at the crimson cloak of el matador. The trained eye of the killer is prepared and as he deftly dodges away, Vincent belts out "Come next mornin, she'll be on her way Come next sunrise, she'll be on her way". This dance of death continues for several minutes in waves of dirty, hard blues riffing. When Vincent delivers the last lines of No Fare, "Bright sunny day, Yeah!", it's as if the Bull has finally gotten fully focused and determined, and charges straight into his mortal foe, leaving him gored to death, crawling across the floor of the ring, absolutely devastated. No Fare, is some no holds barred, heavy as hell Blues Rock, that leaves you crawling on the floor, begging for more.
Strongest Point(s): I absolutely love the ebb and flow of the musical intensity throughout the song, it keeps me on my toes and anticipating what will happen next. The final 3/4 of the song make it all well worth while, with some expertly executed hard and dirty riffing. The mix and master of the song is also really high quality. I really enjoyed this song. I like that you don't hold back, and really make this song kick the listener in the teeth.
Target Audience Appeal: For fans of hard, partying Blues Rock, Blues-Fusion, Alternative, Post-Punk, Indie, Swamp Rock, Grunge, etc. I would definitely recommend contacting sync agencies for possible placement in films, commercials, and other media.
Artist target suggestions: ZZ Ward, Delta Rae, Band of Skulls, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Queens of The Stone Age, The Dead Weather, Seasick Steve, Otis Taylor, The Black Keys, The White Stripes, The Heavy, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, etc.
