SONG REVIEW 🎵📝 Vanessa M. Chattman - Midnight Ivory
Vanessa M. Chattman - Midnight Ivory
Hip Hop/Rap
TX, US
Overall Impression: On "Midnight Ivory," producer Vanessa M Chattman crafts a chilling fusion of classical drama and hardcore realism. Cold, ostinato piano figures and soaring minor-key strings weave a sinister, horror-score atmosphere over aggressive sub-bass and sharp drill percussion. Regal yet thoroughly haunting, the track seamlessly bridges orchestral elegance with raw, late-night tension. With its menacing beat design and ominous vibe, Vanessa M Chattman’s “Midnight Ivory” is streaming now on all platforms, and is tailor-made for spooky Halloween horror playlists.
Strongest Point(s): Outstanding production and a great sounding mix. Excellent clarity and tonal balance, despite a somewhat busy in spots, multi-layered arrangement. Nice intro, really sets the tone and atmosphere. Fantastic use of space and dynamics throughout, terrific buildup and climax at the end of the piece. Drums hit hard when they enter, great beat design. Kick is slamming, claps are crisp, and the hats are rapid-fire. 808s slide comfortably beneath the mix, serving as a solid foundation for the other synth work. Love the sampled drum kit fills, they contribute a terrific old school flavor. Vocal shout snippets add a rhythmic human element as well. Overall, this is an incredibly well-crafted track that is built from the ground up with artistic intent and creative design. It does a great job of establishing a horror vibe, and would have definite sync opportunities as well as seasonal playlist placements. Stellar work, all around!
