Bobby Quick and the Speeds of Sound - It's Our Night
Rock
OH, US

Overall Impression: Ohio-based indie rockers Bobby Quick and the Speeds of Sound blend gritty blues-based riffs with melodic pop sensibilities, on their release of "It's Our Night." This high energy, uptempo track features a twin guitar attack and a driving four-to-the-floor drumbeat alongside a boogie-woogie bass line and vintage keyboard sounds, bolstered by a vibrant horn section that includes a screaming alto saxophone solo. Quick’s vocal swagger builds like a Friday afternoon pressure cooker, converting five days of workplace monotony into pure, unadulterated rock-and-roll release while group backing vocals really drive the hook home. Rock fans of all ages will enjoy the soulful sound and blue-collar spirit of Bobby Quick's "It's Our Night", available now for streaming on all major music platforms.

Strongest Point(s): Outstanding production and a great sounding mix, really sounds fantastic at high volumes. Good density without sacrificing clarity, solid tonal balance. Nice crunchy guitar tones. Killer groove, nice boogie bounce between the bass and drums. Tremendous energy straight from the top, great build-up until the first chorus hits. Absolutely love the horns on this track, they really elevate the sound here and cast a wide shadow. Sax solo jumps right off the page. Terrific vocal performance, full of indie rock swagger and jubilation as the lyrics convey a straightforward idea with a succinct message. The backing vox do a wonderful job here as well in a repetitive fashion, will go a long way towards listener engagement. All in all, this is an incredibly strong track and a great weekend anthem that nearly any rock fan should be able to enjoy, thanks to a classic, blues-based sound. Brilliant work, by everyone involved!.
