Strongest Point(s): Excellent production, clean and polished mix with good clarity and tonal balance. Terrific use of stereo space. Great energy throughout. Solid pop song structure and arrangement. Killer straight-ahead rock groove, nice subtle variations in the chorus. Nice choices in guitar and keyboard tones. I really like that instrumental break that begins around 2:27; it serves as a nice quick bridge, and the pinch harmonics sound great. Awesome vocal performance with a cool and confident delivery that's perfect for the genre. Backing vocals add a ton of wonderful color and harmonic texture, and really make the chorus hook jump off the page so to speak. Powerful lyrical content that paints a realistic image of a working musician, as well as serving as an inspiration to anyone pursuing their own personal or career goals. All in all, this is a tremendous pop/rock track with a great retro-inspired sound that should do exceptionally well with fans of eighties high-energy pop hooks and guitar riffs. With the lineup of Johnny Void (guitar/vox), Michael Blackford (bass), and Jason Burrows (drums), the band recorded this track in January 1996 at L N G Studios in Merrit Island, FL.
