Sean Bayla - PTSD: Struggles of my past
Alternative/Alt. Rock
NV, US
Overall Impression: Songwriter and Veteran Sean Bayla wrestles with the hidden horrors of war, on his release of “PTSD: Struggles of My Past”. This mid-tempo track features a sleek modern rock sound that blends airy synths with muscular beats and overdriven guitars. Soaring tenor vocals deliver raw and emotional lyrics that chronicle the plight of a soldier upon returning home, drawing from his own journey in hopes of helping others who may be going through similar turmoil. Rooted in personal experience, the song is a compelling, cathartic plea designed to connect with and support fellow veterans. For those who seek anthemic, emotionally charged contemporary rock that stands up for a cause, Sean Bayla's "PTSD: Struggles of My Past" is a single that must be heard, available across all major streaming platforms.
Strongest Point(s): Solid production, decent mix. Great modern pop/rock sound that incorporates electronic elements and puts the focus squarely on the vocal. Nice pop chord progression that allows for compelling melodic content. Great bridge at around 3:20. Terrific dynamic variations throughout. Vocal suits the song well, sounds fantastic in the upper register. Lyrics are incredibly candid and vulnerable, which audiences should immediately recognize and be able to make an empathic connection. These lyrics will obviously resonate with veterans in particular, but really anyone struggling with PTSD no matter what the source. This is a strong track all around, with a radio-friendly sound and a crucial message of healing and hope. Very nice work!
