Overall Impression: "Pacific Northwest 2026" is a brand new release celebrating the arrival of the World Cup to the Americas from Alex Kajumulo, AKA The Original Bushman. In anticipation of the upcoming international football tournament, The Original Bushman delivers a vibrant Afro-fusion track that blends captivating electronic sounds with traditional clave rhythms, forming the ideal backdrop for his dancehall-style vocals. Shoutouts to the various cities and lands of the PNW populate this track, as the lyrics are interspersed with football chants amidst nods to Seattle and Vancouver, among others. Alex Kajumulo's "Pacific Northwest 2026" serves as an enthusiastic anthem for the set of matches played in the region, and should particularly appeal to fans of Afro-fusion and/or Afrobeats.

 Strongest Point(s): Solid production, decent mix. Brilliant concept for a track, should do well with PNW football fans. Great blend of synths and electronic elements, plenty of sonic variety to keep audiences engaged. Love the flute and organ combo towards the end. Excellent Afrobeat groove, drums cut through nicely. Outstanding dancehall-style vocals, great energy and enthusiasm. Plenty of positive affirmations mixed in with the city shoutouts and football chants, very celebratory mood that should be contagious with listeners. Creative use of filters on the outro. All in all, this is a stellar Afrobeats track that should help build excitement and hype for the upcoming games. Fantastic work by all involved!

Jose Caridad Hernandez , better known as “Perico”, is a sonero/percussionist/composer/songwriter who creates “organic  cuban music.” Born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, Perico is the second to the youngest of twelve siblings and the only one who became a musician. Perico began his musical training as a young boy in Havana.  He watched the street rumberos creating amazing rhythms on the “tumbadoras” (congas), and after watching Patato Valdez play congas on a TV show, Perico decided that’s what he wanted to do. Perico gradually learned from the “rumberos” and at age 14 became the conguero for a neighborhood group, Conjunto Monte Carlo. He was eventually recruited to play with the popular Conjunto Casino.
