New Stonewalls - 14 Ways in 14 Days
Rock
New York, U.S.
Overall Impression: “14 Ways in 14 Days” is an exciting new release from the New York-based band, New Stonewalls. This uptempo track features a compelling post-punk sound that blends the vibrant brass of ska with angular guitar riffs and hard-hitting rock rhythms. Catchy melodic hooks complement hazy yet provocative lyrics with meticulous pop structure and obvious attention to detail, while creative filters and effects help to establish a modern vocal character and style. Alternative and indie music fans, particularly those with a taste for third-wave ska, will enjoy the lively spirit and aggressive punk rock sounds of “14 Ways in 14 Days”, courtesy of New Stonewalls.
Strongest Point(s): Excellent production, solid mix. Nice drum intro, grabs the listener right away. Fantastic energy and dynamics throughout. Terrific song structure, textbook pop form. Good variety between sections with outstanding flow. Catchy melodic content, lots of great hooks. Brass sounds amazing, really nice arrangement. Great vocal performance and production, wonderful use of filters/fx to provide different textures. Lyrics are wild and opaque, conjuring images of a late night beach party. All in all, this is a really fun track that should appeal to a wide range of alternative and indie rock fans, thanks to an inclusive and polished sound. Great job, from start to finish!
