Todd Rash - Rainy Day In Dallas
Country, Rock
California, U.S.

Overall Impression: California-based singer/songwriter Todd Rash explores raw and emotional themes of tumultuous love paired with tragic loss, on his release of "Rainy Day in Dallas." Featured on his 2021 full-length album titled Emotional Rehab and presented in an alt-country rock style, this track emphasizes and spotlights Rash's mastery of song craft with an uncanny ability to capture and convey feelings of grief through both music and lyrics. His weathered and weary baritone vocal is backed by a top-shelf rhythm section playing a guitar-heavy arrangement, highlighted by a fiery tremolo lead in an exciting solo section. Fans of dark and moody Americana and roots rock should definitely check out Todd Rash's "Rainy Day in Dallas", available now on all major streaming services.

Strongest Point(s): Excellent production, great sounding mix. Good clarity and tonal balance. Outstanding atmosphere and vibe in the acoustic first verse, smooth transition to the full band sound In the second. Nice guitar orchestration and arrangement, lots of neat stuff going on, wonderful variety of tones. Killer groove, bass, drums and rhythm guitars are locked in tight. Awesome vocal performance and production, fantastic style and delivery. Harmonies in the choruses sound great, add nice texture. Heavy lyrical content; vivid imagery and a gripping narrative, with an incredibly compelling chorus hook. Terrific ending, great choice to bring the first verse back around, nice little strums and rain fadeout. This is a tremendous track all around, and should do very well with alt-country and roots rock audiences in particular. Brilliant work on this one!
