Eric Andrews - Drinking From The Fountain
Rock, Country
Ohio, U.S.

Overall Impression: Ohio-based singer/songwriter Eric Andrews explores his own burning thirst for knowledge and experience, with his release of "Drinking From the Fountain." This mid tempo track features a down-home, heartland rock sound that's provided by both acoustic and electric guitars, drums, bass and piano in support of Andrews' naturally relaxed vocal style, while vibrant group backing harmonies add terrific texture and wonderful color. Lyrics describe an ongoing quest to gather better understanding and artistic insight, taking the narrator from town to town as he travels America's highways and backroads in search of a sort of modernistic enlightenment. Contemporary pop/rock and roots rock fans should definitely check out Eric Andrews' "Drinking From the Fountain", available now as a single on all major music platforms.

Strongest Point(s): Excellent production, solid mix. Good tonal balance and use of stereo space. Rhythm section sounds great, sitting squarely in the pocket. Nice rock groove, fantastic rhythm riff, love the high-end piano pickup notes there. Good song structure, bridge does well to break things up a little. I liked the subtraction of the drums too, coming out of the bridge. Gives a nice dynamic construction element. Lead guitar tone sounds great. Awesome vocal performances; lead has a wonderful, welcoming charm to it, and the backing vocals were very nicely arranged and executed. Brilliant lyrical content and themes; there's not many things more compelling in this whole wide world than a quest for knowledge. The fountain is a classic metaphor that should resonate strongly with listeners. Overall this is a great bit of song craft, and a fine finished track that should have fairly wide appeal, thanks to its explorative subject matter and charismatic sound. Very nice work, by all involved!
