The 76 Club - Beside Myself
Rock, Indie
United Kingdom

Overall Impression: British quintet The 76 Club deliver dynamic and engaging indie rock, with their release of "Beside Myself." Built around a hypnotic bass riff, this track features washed-out ethereal guitars and crisp energetic drumming in support of singer Anna Milne's compelling vocal stylings as she serves up existential and reflective lyrics that detail an internal struggle to move past a broken relationship. Delicate verses are balanced by bombastic choruses here, displaying the band's expansive range and providing wonderful musical contrast. Polished production, exceptional musicianship and well-crafted lyrics make The 76 Club's "Beside Myself" an easy recommendation for any and all indie or alternative rock fans.

Strongest Point(s): Excellent production, fantastic mix. Outstanding tonal balance and use of stereo space. Great energy and overall vibe, straight from the top. Incredible dynamics throughout that will keep listeners engaged. Stellar bass line that is really the heart of this tune. Drum mix sounds amazing, very precise playing also. Nice guitar tones, as well as interplay. The parts blend together seamlessly and compliment the vocal nicely. Tremendous vocal performance and production; very contemporary style that shows your range, and the harmony layers certainly add a ton of color. Lyrics are raw and intimate, and should resonate with rock audiences. All in all, this is a phenomenal track that blends elements of dream pop and shoegaze with the intensity and spirit of post-punk to create a fairly unique and incredibly compelling alternative/indie rock sound. Very nice work on this one, looking forward to hearing what's next!
