Mira Raven - Ring Ring
Pop, Indie
Illinois, U.S.
Overall Impression: Mira Raven has a few words for those who can't take the hint and keep blowing up her phone. A modern Pop track with Indie stylings and a DIY sound, Ring Ring is the newest release by this Chicago-based artist. It tries to shake off the obsessively clingy and does so with some harsh words and attitude. Raven's lyrics cut like a knife, particularly in the first verse, and have no time for the feelings of those on the receiving end. As the tune progresses her frustration and annoyance builds, becoming evermore present in both the lyrics and vocal delivery. Mira brings both a seasoned confidence and youthful energy to her singing. The verses are melodic and thoughtful, while the hook relishes in being a wild outburst of repetition. Permeating the entire track is an on-edge, almost maniacal energy. It gives Ring Ring a very cool personality and helps make the song stand out in the modern world of Pop.
Strongest Point(s): The lyrics are the driving force behind Ring Ring. The first verse is harsh, tough, and blunt. The following verses become more articulate, long-winded, and hold nothing back. The use of the word "prey-ground" also displays Raven's clever word-smithing ability. This song feels personal, and maintains its identity for the entire duration.
Target Audience Appeal: Fans of Modern Pop and Indie Pop will dig Ring Ring by Mira Raven.
Artist target suggestions: Billie Eilish, Ke$ha, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Erykah Badu, Gorillaz, Gwen Stefani, Lana Del Rey, Halsey, Ed Sheeran, Twenty One Pilots, Lorde, Tyler The Creator, Beyonce, Rihanna, Mary J. Blige
