Gedalya Folk Rock Rabbi - The Bookstore Cafe
Folk, Rock
New York, U.S.

Overall Impression: "The Bookstore Cafe" is a vibrant, literary-themed new release from Gedalya Folk Rock Rabbi. This uptempo track features a playfully fun arrangement, primarily consisting of strummed acoustic guitar, lively piano and briskly brushed drums. Catchy electric guitar hooks, subtle organ and sustained flute pads lend color and harmonic support behind Gedalya's charming vocal as he outlines a coffee shop dalliance, name dropping classic and contemporary authors with steady flow and a clever rhyme scheme. Gedalya Folk Rock Rabbi's "The Bookstore Cafe" will resonate with well-read indie rock and folk audiences as well as pop/rock fans, thanks to its cerebral themes and bright, sunny sound.

Strongest Point(s): Outstanding production, excellent mix. Great tonal balance and clarity. Fantastic energy and atmosphere. Wonderful instrumentation. Terrific folk-rock chord progressions. Drums and bass sound terrific together. Love the sustained flute, has a nice vintage chamberlain/mellotron quality about it. Guitars are very well mixed, organ sits underneath nicely in the background. Stellar vocal performance and production, great delivery. Superb lyrical content, will absolutely connect with your intended audience of coffee shop listeners. Hughes, Hemingway and Aristotle, all in one concise package. Super catchy chorus, very memorable melody. Nice use of simile and sensory imagery as well. I really enjoy the bridge, offers a great change of pace and almost acts as a reset. All in all, this is an impressive bit of song craft and a brilliant finished track that should have no problem finding an audience. Stellar work, by all involved!
